Psalm 127
October 5, 2025 - Sunday Morning Service

Psa 127:1 A Song of degrees for
Solomon. Except the LORD build the
house, they labour in vain that build it:
except the LORD keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain.

Psa 127:2 It is vain for you to rise
up early, to sit up late, to eat the
bread of sorrows: for so he giveth
his beloved sleep.

Psa 127:3 Lo, children are an
heritage of the LORD: and the fruit
of the womb is his reward.

Psa 127:4 As arrows are in the hand
of a mighty man; so are children of the
youth.

Psa 127:5 Happy is the man that
hath his quiver full of them: they
shall not be ashamed, but they
shall speak with the enemies in
the gate.

Watching

Isa_21:6 For thus hath the
Lord said unto me, Go, set a
watchman, let him declare
what he seeth.

1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of
light, and the children of the day: we
are not of the night, nor of darkness.

1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep,
as do others; but let us watch and be
sober.

The Waiting

Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy
walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never
hold their peace day nor night: ye that
make mention of the LORD, keep not
silence,

Isa 62:7 And give him no rest, till he
establish, and till he make Jerusalem a
praise in the earth.

1Th 1:9 For they themselves shew of us
what manner of entering in we had unto
you, and how ye turned to God from idols
to serve the living and true God;

1Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from
heaven, whom he raised from the dead,
even Jesus, which delivered us from the
wrath to come.

The Warning

Eze_33:6 But if the watchman see
the sword come, and blow not the
trumpet, and the people be not
warned; if the sword come, and take
any person from among them, he is
taken away in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at the watchman's
hand.

The Walking

Psa 127:1b

except the LORD keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain.

Isa 56:10 His watchmen are blind: they
are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs,
they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down,
loving to slumber.

Isa 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs
which can never have enough, and they
are shepherds that cannot understand:
they all look to their own way, every one
for his gain, from his quarter.

2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by
sight:)

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and
willing rather to be absent from the
body, and to be present with the
Lord.
