Joshua 24:14-15
June 21, 2026 - Father's Day Service
Joshua 24:14-15 Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
I. A Godly Father Answers God's Call
Genesis 12:1-4 Now the Lord said to Abram, Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. So, Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
II. A Godly Father Leads by Example
Joshua 24:15 As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
III. A Godly Father Protects and Shepherds Those He Loves  John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
IV. A Godly Father Leaves a Legacy of Faith
2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
