First, I want to thank God for a wonderful wife and family that have been so supportive of the work that God has allowed me to do for so many years, and when I say family I mean every last one of them. I have been married for 37 years and for almost 30 of those years Michelle has been by my side as a Pastor’s wife. We have been privileged to pastor four different churches. I could not thank God enough for each one of those church families, and how good they are and have been to us. Church to me is about the greatest family on earth, “The Family of God.”

Apostle Paul said this, “ Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;   That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” -  Eph 3:15-21

What a blueprint for the family of God and church life!

When we arrived here at Alum Creek Friends Church, around six years ago, we realized that this Church family has been here, in what was then known as Quakertown, since 1816.This puts us in a pulpit of a long line of pastors. It is very humbling to think about all of the members of family of God that have been here for over those 200 years. The reason I point this out is because the first people who assembled here in the beginning had a vision from God. What a blessing it is to be here many years later as a pastor to be a part of the continuance of that vision. I feel this church family is more than just a church that is a part of a denomination. It is a family that believes the gospel of Jesus Christ. Echoing what Apostle Paul says to the Ephesians, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith” - this is what it takes to be a part of the Family of God, that each and every person believes with their whole heart.

Finally, as the pastor of Alum Creek Evangelical Friends Church, I look so forward to what God is going to do among us here and the people that God will bring our way. I so hope that the light of Jesus will shine in us so brightly that we will be a blessing to all those people. Like I said earlier, the family of God is the greatest family on earth to be a part of, and the greatest part about it is, his arms are open wide to” WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED”(Acts 2:21).

May God Bless You
